FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: test signal which interacts with an aqueous solution to be identified is generated; the interaction result is compared with a standard and the aqueous solution is identified based on the comparison results. The test signal used is a series of current pulses in form of damped periodic oscillations, wherein the initial amplitude of the next pulse is higher than the previous pulse. The test signal is transmitted to two electrodes mounted in a container with a fixed volume of the test aqueous solution at a distance from each other and below the top level of the solution. The response signal is detected by an inductive sensor at the midpoint between the electrodes at the same level of the aqueous solution. The aqueous solution is subjected to a series of test pulses and the response signal from each test pulse is detected until a steady-state value of the response signal is obtained. The plurality of response signals which are grouped into an obtained series are compared with a standard and the test aqueous solution is identified based on the comparison results.
EFFECT: simple method, high sensitivity and information content thereof owing to detection of specific components in the solution.
