SUBSTANCE: device for thermal protection of electric motor contains current sensors installed in phases of the electric motor, contactor unit with contacts in power circuit feeding windings of the electric motor and indicating unit; the device is equipped auxiliary with unit selecting maximum voltage, unit indicating the phase with maximum current, shaper of time-current curve, unit recording time of electric motor overloading, generator of saw-tooth voltage, comparator, sample-hold circuit and RS-trigger.

EFFECT: providing automatic definition of the most loaded winding of the electric motor, increasing accuracy and reliability of its thermal condition control, improving informative capacity of the device, simplifying detection of fault and its elimination, decreasing dimensions, weight and costs of the device.
