EXPANDABLE FUNCTIONAL TFE COPOLYMER FINE POWER, EXPANDED FUNCTIONAL PRODUCTS OBTAINED THEREFROM AND REACTION OF EXPANDED PRODUCTS Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC C08F214/26 B29C55/00 C08J5/22

Abstract RU 2500692 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a functional tetraflouroethylene (TFE) copolymer fine powder resin, a functional TFE copolymer dispersion, a method of producing an expandable functional TFE copolymer fine powder, an expanded polymer material, a method for production thereof, as well as a composite material containing the expanded functional TFE copolymer. The functional tetraflouroethylene (TFE) copolymer fine powder resin contains a functional TFE copolymer which contains a polymer chain consisting of TFE and at least one comonomer with a functional group attached to the polymer chain. The at least one comonomer with a functional group is a fluorovinyl ether of general formula CF2=CF-ORfZ, where Rf is a fluoroalkyl group optionally interrupted by one or more oxygen atoms and Z is a functional group. The functional TFE copolymer has crystallinity which is sufficient for extrusion of said copolymer in paste form and extrusion into an expanded porous functional TFE copolymer material with a microstructure having nodes interconnected by fibres. Said sufficient crystallinity is obtained in the last 10-20% of the TFE copolymer polymerisation process.

EFFECT: obtaining a functional TFE copolymer fine powder resin and expanded materials from said powder, having a microstructure containing nodes interconnected by fibres.
