FIELD: fire-fighting facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of fire-fighting equipment, and can be used to provide fire and explosion safety during repair hot works outside horizontal tanks without their prior release from light-oil products. Object of the invention is the ability to perform repair hot works on horizontal tanks for light-oil products without their drain, including with one manhole, in simplified method. The essence of the invention: gaseous flammable substances are displaced from the tank. For this in the liquid phase of the oil product the solid carbon dioxide (hereinafter - dry ice) is fed in pellet form at a rate of 1.9-2 kg per 1 m3 of the tank volume with a granular size from 3 to 10 mm. At that, for horizontal tanks with capacity up to 100 m3, inclusive, filling height of the tank with the oil product shall be not less than 0.49 metres. The oxygen concentration is continuously controlled in the tank space free from the oil products on the tank height at several points along one vertical line. When the oxygen concentration corresponding to the fire and explosion safety state of the tank, the supply of dry ice pellets is stopped. The tank is sealed, and the repair hot works are commenced outside. Upon detection of the excess of the oxygen concentration the dry ice pellets are additionally fed in the tank and the state of fire and explosion safety of the tank is achieved. When repeated excess of oxygen concentration the steps are repeated.
EFFECT: improvement of fire and explosion safety of the tank is achieved during repair hot works, the ability to carry out repair hot works on the horizontal tanks for storage of light-oil products without their drain, including with one manhole, simplification of the method.
