FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: method provides for combination of exhaust gases jets from several cylinders into one in a muffler chamber, and their cooling during the entire process of diversion. For this purpose the device comprises a header, a cooling jacket with holes for supply of outside water and its discharge, acoustic mirrors, which are placed in a header mutually perpendicularly, an outlet nozzle made in the form of an elbow. The cooling jacket is placed along the entire contour of the muffler. The end of the outlet nozzle protrudes beyond the contour of the cooling jacket. The hole for water discharge from the cooling jacket is placed downstream the elbow of the outlet nozzle in the upper part of the jacket contour or its end part.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and compactness of a device.
