FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention may find application in platformless inertial navigation systems (PINS) and platformless inertial orientation systems (PIOS) on triaxial fibre-optic gyroscopes (TFOG) with one common source of radiation (CSR). A correlation noise matrix (CNM) of TFOG with CSR is measured under conditions that are maximum close to conditions of PIOS usage on a controlled facility (CF); the optimal orientation (optimal orientations) is calculated for a related basis relative to the body of the CF, under which the projections of the vector of the measured absolute angular speed (VAAS) of the CF on the axis of the related basis are such that according to a certain criterion the minimum dispersion of the PIOS error is provided; the PIOS is set on the basis of the TFOG with CSR on the CF, and axes of TFOG sensitivity are aligned relative to the measured VAAS of the CF in accordance with a certain criterion, in order to provide for minimum dispersion of the PIOS error.
EFFECT: higher accuracy.
