FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: connector consists of two identical plugs, each having a hollow cylindrical housing and a protective sleeve. A half-coupling, having elements for bayonet connection with a half-coupling of a reciprocal plug or with a half-coupling of the protective sleeve, is placed on the cylindrical housing with possibility of rotation. Inside the cylindrical housing there is a cylindrical base with stepped openings in which are inserted ferrules and pressure springs and nuts. The base is attached to a cap with a stepped outer face and with openings for accommodating contact parts of the ferrules. The bottom step of the cap is attached to bushings having light localisers in which contact parts of ferrules are also placed. A seal ring is mounted on each bushing. The centre part of the base is connected to a support arm, the tail of which is attached to a clamp and a conical sleeve with cable openings. In the tail of the support arm there is a central opening and a transverse opening for extending light guides to the ferrules. In the middle part of the support arm there is a central opening for inserting a cable and two bolts with nuts. There are transverse threaded openings in the bolt bodies for inserting cables. A cable clamp and a seal are mounted in the rear part of the housing of the plug.
