FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a fuel oil viscosity reduction method by its hydrotreatment in presence of a catalyst at the temperature of 300-600°C, contact time of fuel oil with the catalyst of 0.5-2 g-fuel oil/g-cat/h, in presence of hydrogen supplied under pressure of 4-6 MPa at the speed of 16-80 mg-H2/g-fuel oil/h. A catalyst applied onto a carrier with regular spatial macropore structure is used; besides, the catalyst contains aluminium oxide obtained by means of template synthesis as the carrier, and cobalt and molybdenum compounds as active component.
EFFECT: obtaining fuel oils with reduced viscosity.
