FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method for experimental research of coolant mixing in an operating nuclear reactor consists in the fact that a system of emergency boron injection is used at any level of power in one or more loops to create weak unevenness in distribution of an indicator, which plays a role of a temperature indicator before entrance to the reactor, and in the reactor core - a role of a neutron absorbing indicator. At the same time the complex of standard systems of neutron and temperature monitoring in sections of a circulating circuit is used: before entrance to the reactor and the reactor core, in the reactor core and before exit from the reactor. To eliminate distortions and fluctuation of recorded signals, they apply processing of low disturbances of signals in monitoring systems.

EFFECT: possibility to perform research directly in process of normal operation of a reactor or when it is commissioned.
