FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method to detect power indices of a fuel assembly of a nuclear reactor includes development of a computer model of an assembly made of real fuel elements with parameters of their various conditions, making neutron-physical calculations for a modelled and a real assembly, determination of necessary corrections to correct difference in power indices. At the same time, using the Monte Carlo method, efficiency is calculated - the escape probability distributed along the emitter radius (without return) for electrons from the direct charge detector emitter, generated whenever the emitter captures one neutron. Neutron-physical calculations include calculation of activation of a non-burnable rhodium (emitter) in the detector and average capacity of six fuel elements that surround the detector. The function of transition from the detector current to linear energy release is approximated by burning of each type of a fuel assembly and parameters of the reactor core, the linear energy release of six fuel elements surrounding the detector and linear energy release of the assembly are calculated.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of detection of energy release fields and temperatures in fuel assemblies.
