SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for preparing beverages, in particular beverages which require brewing. The device for preparing beverages comprises a tank which is open at the top, a filter insert and a lid. In the lower wall of the lower part of the lid an opening is made which configuration enables to put the filter insert into it. The lower part of the lid is held hermetically on the tank, and in the lower wall of the lid the pouring opening is made for closing which the lid is provided with a shutter and a lever, mounted over the lower wall of the lid with the ability to rotate about the horizontal axis. The lever has the activating part, turning it from the first to the second position in which the shutter closes and releases respectively the pouring opening.

EFFECT: prevention of spilling and the reduction of heat loss of the prepared beverage.
