SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an infusion-based device for brewing a beverage from brewing material and a method for brewing a beverage using an infusion-based device for brewing a beverage from brewing material. The infusion-based device for brewing a beverage from brewing material contains a container having a base and a wall extending upward from the base and forming an internal volume, and a partition that, at least when used, is fixed in the container at a predetermined distance above the base for dividing the internal volume into an upper chamber above the partition for containing the brewed beverage and a lower chamber below the partition for receiving brewing material from the upper chamber, while the upper chamber has a larger volume than the lower chamber. The partition has a peripheral area hermetically connected to the wall and a central area having at least one first hole for connecting upper and lower chambers via fluid, and outside the central area, the partition is airtight and impermeable to a part of the lower chamber located above the specified at least one first hole. The container forms an inlet for the introduction of liquid into the internal volume. The inlet is open into the upper chamber, and the specified arrangement is made so that, when used, it is possible to fill the container with liquid to a level above the partition with liquid entering the lower chamber through the specified at least one first hole with partial filling of the lower chamber, while capturing the volume of air in the lower chamber in an area located laterally outside of the central area of the partition, as the container is filled with liquid to the specified level, and so that, when used, the specified at least one first hole forms part of a passage path, along which it is possible to move brewing material held as a suspension in liquid in the upper chamber from the upper chamber to the lower chamber.

EFFECT: more efficient separation of the brewed beverage from brewing material after infusion, as well as providing the possibility of brewing a cup of coffee comparable to a cup of coffee obtained in the method for brewing in a French press coffee pot, while brewing takes less time than in a traditional French press.
