FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly to machining of rotating workpiece. To up the efficiency of forming residual tensile strains in workpiece surface layer, machining is performed by lathe tool and straining ball lagging behind relative to toll top in direction of lengthwise feed that features higher hardness compared to workpiece hardness and is fitted in acoustic concentrator for coolant-lubricants to be fed via axial channel made therein. Ultrasound frequency amplitude modulated oscillations are imparted to forming tool and lubricant-coolant.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
