FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to combined treatment of billet cylindrical surface. Billet is rotated and turned and surface plastic deformed by the deforming element of higher hardness compared to billet material hardness. Turning is performed by cutter for preliminary turning, which has the possibility of changing allowable allowance, and by cutter for final turning. Deforming element is arranged with lag relative to cutter end for final turning in direction of longitudinal feed motion. Cutting temperature of cutter for final turning is kept constant at constant rotation speed of workpiece.
EFFECT: as a result, the variation of the values of residual life of the plasticity of the surface layer of the part after surface plastic deformation is reduced.
