FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: layered material for soundboards of musical instruments has soft and hard layers joined to each other, arranged perpendicular to the given base plane of the material and repeatedly alternating with each other. The soft layers are made of porous materials, such as foamed polyurethane or foam plastic or balsa, and the hard layers are made of a metal alloy or plastic or hardwood.
EFFECT: making soundboards of musical instruments whose acoustic properties match those of classical instruments and eliminating shortcomings that are typical for natural wood, while widening the timbre range of the instruments.
