SUBSTANCE: method of transmitting contact information involves storing a document for shared access to contacts for a user and managing said document in an XML document management server (XDM) of user preferences and policy (UPP), wherein said document for shared access to contacts is an XML document management server (XDM), through which a user can indicate who should be provided with contact information; receiving a notification on the need to provide a recipient with contact information for a contact in the address book of the sender, wherein said notification includes the address of the recipient and the address of the sender, the provided contact information is indicated through the address of the sender, reception of the notification is carried out in response to updating the document for shared access to contacts; extracting contact information for said contact from a personal contact card server or an address book storage server; and initiating delivery of contact information to the recipient.
EFFECT: efficient and reliable transmission of contract information.
