FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves incomplete austenisation at the temperature of 920-950°C with exposure during 0.5-1 hour of cast iron containing the following components, wt %: carbon - 2.8-3.1, silicon - 3.8-4.1, manganese - 0.25-0.3, magnesium - 0.05-0.08, copper - 1.2-1.6, nickel - 1.8-2.2, sulphur - 0.01-0.012, phosphorus - 0.03-0.04, iron is the rest, and having a structure consisting of ferrite matrix and graphite inclusions of a ball shape, and further isothermic hardening from temperature of 300-330°C and exposure during 1.5-2 hours so that structure with ferrite-austenite matrix is obtained.
EFFECT: obtaining structural materials having high level of strength, impact viscosity and ductility.
