FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: drop-on-demand ink jet printer forming droplets on demand, comprising a flow-through print head having nozzles and a fluid medium circulation system comprising a main reservoir, a feeding buffer container, and a return manifold. At that the main reservoir is connected to the feeding buffer container. The feeding buffer container is connected through the fluid medium to the nozzles of the flow-through print head. The nozzles are communicated through the fluid medium with the return manifold, and the return manifold is connected to the main reservoir. And the main reservoir and the feeding buffer container are located above the nozzles, and the feeding buffer container is provided with at least one lockable additional channel connecting the feeding buffer container to the main reservoir.
EFFECT: proposed invention provides creation of such a device in which the generation of the fluid medium wastes is reduced when interruption of its operation.
