FORE OF SUM-SUBMERGED VESSEL UNDERWATER HULL Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC B63B1/32 B63B1/06 B63B1/00

Abstract RU 2506192 C1

FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to design of fore of, mainly, large-capacity tankers, gas tankers, container vessel. Proposed fore represents a vessel hull entrance and is composed of the right and left boards. Ratio of fore maximum width to fore maximum height makes 4.0-4.3. Said entrance composed of top and bottom curved surfaces connected with bottom and deck towards aft is located at horizontal place Said surfaces connecting at underwater hull height mid points are straight. Note here that their contours in plan to conjugation with board line are curved with notably larger radius of curvature. Note also that geometrical location of points that making contours of board branches making the extension of straight sections to be rounded towards aft till smooth conjugation with cylindrical insert waterlines is defined by the formula (1) where b is fore half-width without straight section, l is fore length, k is factor defining the waterline position in height from free waterline (for free water line k=1). Calculation of factor k for nth-waterline is made by the formula that defines geometrical locating of points for buttock contour spaced from datum line bt 1/10 B in coordinates znQ xn, as: xn=czn2, (2), where zn is applicate of skin surface points at buttock plate at y=1/10 B, c is factor of proportionality.

EFFECT: decreased water drag.
