FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a system for initiating cationic polymerisation of monomers, a polymerisation method and a polymer obtained using said method. The system for cationic polymerisation in an aqueous reaction medium includes an initiation system, an aqueous reaction medium and an optional dispersant. The initiation system comprises an initiator, an additive, a Lewis acid and an optional diluent. The additive is selected from a group consisting of organic compounds which contain one or more heteroatoms selected from nitrogen, oxygen, sulphur and phosphorus. Water content in the reaction medium ranges from 3.5% to 100%. The cationic polymerisable monomers used are vinyl compounds which are selected from a group consisting of C3-C12-olefins, C4-C12-diolefins, styrenes or derivatives and vinyl esters thereof.

EFFECT: initiation system has high activity, low cost and easy to use in the polymerisation method, which can simplify the process.
