FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method is implemented with the help of working tool interacting with workpiece and revolving about its axis at machine tool having multiple axes. Note here that said machine tool is composed of metal cutting NC machine intended for production of bevel gears of whatever shape or of NC milling machine for cutting in five axes. Position of machine settings and tool centre position are defined. Then, tool position is changed from its centre to shifted position so tool axis is aligned with centre line of tooth socket initial profile or is located at the angle to said line. Tool is revolved and brought in contact with workpiece. Then, said tool is displaced over workpiece surface width in multiple passes for sequential forming of tooth socket. Note also that said tool follows the circle arc in every pass.
EFFECT: expanded cutting performances in making large bevel gear at relatively small machines to high precision.
