FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: rail head top layer elevated above adjacent rail is removed to make inclined surface to be aligned with adjacent rail top surface. Proposed device comprises truck. Said truck is arranged at track section adjoining aforesaid joint. Two-arm lever is articulated with carriage frame, lever having a dual kink at hinge area to allow said lever to turn in vertical plane. Horizontal shaft is arranged at lever one arm on supports directed downward. Said shaft is articulated with drive motor. Wheels are fitted on shafts ends. Spacing between said wheels makes the track gage. Cutting elements shaped to rail head profile are fitted at said wheels. Two-arm lever opposite arm is coupled with electrically driven screw pusher. Wheels motor storage battery is mounted at carriage frame. Control circuit of cutting elements ands said pusher allows adjustment of rpm of their shafts. Carriage shifting sideways from rail joint removes layer from rail head by cutting elements of running wheels.
