FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: for definition of the water interface layer depth on surface with different properties, distance of the surface intermolecular forces in water is defined. Ability of surfactants in gas phase in the form of drops to displace water is exploited. New methods of application of nanotechnologies for chemical and power production purposes allow determination of the depth of water layer in interaction with surface substance by difference in critical water layer depth whereat said layer is penetrated by surfactant from gas phase and depth of structures water surface layer depth of 0.15 mm. Data on water surface critical depth at the surface under analysis is derived from interaction between surfactant with water surface at recording water displacement, by video camera, from capillary inlet to surfactant till the end of water mixing. Then, frame-by-frame scan is used to define the time required for water layer penetration. Here, water layer thickness is increased to define at what water layer thickness layer penetration does not occur. Water layer critical depth represents the depth whereat the entire water depth is penetrated.
EFFECT: adequate definition of water boundary layer wherein molecule force field at body surface propagates.
