FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to diagnostic engineering and it can be used for diagnosing of electric circuits containing active resistance and inductance, in particular, of windings in electric machines and apparatus. Technical result is attained due to the diagnosing method consisting in additional in-series connection of capacitor to electric circuit; harmonic fixed frequency voltage is supplied to the electric circuit and in steady harmonic oscillation mode amplitude and phase shift at the capacitor are measured in regard to the supplied voltage, ratio of voltage amplitude at the capacitor to supplied voltage amplitude is calculated and then value of phase shift and calculated amplitude ratio are accepted as diagnosable parameters. Availability of defects can be judged by analysing and comparing the measured diagnosable parameters and their rated values.

EFFECT: improving sensitivity towards change of diagnosable parameters, which is attained by use of amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics as diagnosable parameters, having high sensitivity to parameter changes in the electric circuit.
