SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of verifying public key certificates. The method involves obtaining information on issued certificates from at least one source; detecting anomalies for at least one certificate by analysing suspicious events associated with the analysed certificate; collecting additional information from at least one external agent on at least one certificate for which an anomaly was detected; creating a list of suspicious certificates consisting of at least one element by finding discrepancies in data obtained earlier; making a decision on the validity of using at least one certificate for authentication purposes by analysing the found discrepancies.
EFFECT: reduced probability of unauthorised access.
