SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems and particularly to a method for secure self-initialisation of subscriber devices. The method of facilitating secure self-initialisation of a subscriber device includes the following, in an initialisation and security sever: receiving, from the subscriber device, a certificate signature request, having configuration initiation data of the subscriber device; generating initialisation data for the subscriber device using the configuration initiation data of the subscriber device and in response to the certificate signature request, providing to the subscriber device initialisation data of the subscriber device and a certificate of the subscriber device, having authorisation attributes associated with initialisation data to facilitate self-initialisation of the subscriber device.

EFFECT: facilitating secure remote self-initialisation of a subscriber device.
