METHOD FOR QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF LIPID CLASSES AND PHOSPHOLIPID SUBCLASSES IN BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC G01N30/90

Abstract RU 2517086 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to biochemistry and describes a method for quantitative determination of lipid classes and phospholipid subclasses in biological materials, which involves using thin-layer chromatography to divide general lipids into classes and phospholipids into subclasses, display thereof on a chromatogram and quantitative determination using densitometry, wherein lipids remaining at the start after dividing general lipids into classes are shifted 0.5 cm higher, displaying lipid classes and phospholipid subclasses on the chromatogram with iodine vapour and calculating the area of peaks corresponding to colour intensity of tracks on the chromatogram using a densitometer, and the amount of general phospholipids, other lipid classes and phospholipid subclasses is determined by a calculation method by selecting each track separately with lines and performing overall summation of the area of the tracks, taking said number as 100% and determining the percentage of each lipid class from general lipids or each phospholipid subclass from general phospholipids, while forming a proportion.

EFFECT: method simplifies the procedure of determining content of lipid classes and phospholipid subclasses in lipid extracts of biological materials and improves accuracy of the obtained results.
