FIELD: food engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves covering any standard slide having silica gel with a sample and standard dyestuff mixture, placing the slide into chromatographic chamber with water and organic solvent system like isobuthanol-isoamyl alcohol-pyridine-ethanol-25% aqueous ammoniac solution in volume proportion of (2.5- 3.1) : (3.0-3.3) : (2.9-3.2) : (3.5-4.5) : (3.8-4.3), carrying out ascending chromatography, visually detecting dyes in propagating light, identifying the dyes by comparing to reference chromatogram of the standard dyestuff mixture and determining quantity of dyestuffs by means of scanning densitometer. EFFECT: improved resolving power of thin-layer chromatography.
