SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to the poultry industry. The method of growing broiler chickens comprises adding of inulin-containing prebiotic to the basic diet of chickens. The inulin-containing prebiotic is used as supplement containing inulin of at less than 97% of the dry matter. At that from the first to the seventh day of life the chickens are given inulin prebiotic in the form of aqueous solution, and from the eighth to twenty-first day they are fed it in the form of powder as part of complete feed in amount of 0.05-0.15 g per 1 kg body weight or 0.05-0.15% per 1 kg of complete feed or continue to give the aqueous solution with the prebiotic from the eighth to 21st day of life in amount of 0.05-0.15 g per 1 kg of live weight.

EFFECT: use of the claimed invention enables to make the microbiocenosis more satisfactory for the host organism, to increase average daily gain, to increase the safety of livestock, to reduce costs per the production unit.
