FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely to spherical devices of Hooke's joint type or double Cardan joint type and can be used as an analogue of a pivot joint of equal angular velocities as well as a substitute for a pivot joint of unequal angular velocities in the drives of tractors and mini-tractors, cars and other vehicles, other machines and mechanisms for rotation transmission between shafts. A pivot joint comprises a driving (1) shaft and a driven shaft with yokes (3) at the ends having identical dimensions, two parts symmetrical in respect to the shaft axis, flat parallel supporting surfaces specifying the yoke (3) thickness h, a slot with inner surfaces perpendicular to the supporting surfaces, with a rectilinear section with width q 2h≤q≤2.3h, and a section in the form of a circular arc of 0.5q radius, and grooves (4) on the supporting surfaces with the width of 0.1-0.15q and depth of 0.02-0.15q, the centrelines of the grooves (4) are equidistanced by 0.2-0.3q from the lines of intersection of the supporting surfaces with the inner surfaces of the yoke (3) slot, a collar (5) at the yoke (3) base of continuous annular form with its surface on the opposite side being perpendicular to the shaft axis, a supporting centring ball (6) with radius R, 0.9q≤R≤1.2q, with two annular mutually perpendicular slots of rectangular profile with the width h. Surfaces of the ball (6) slots' bases are the intersection of surfaces of two cylinders with radius 0.5q, whose axes are mutually perpendicular, pass through the ball (6) centre and are perpendicular to the respective symmetry plane each, and are with two through holes (7) of radius 0.08-0.15h whose axes coincide with the axes of the cylinders. The yokes (3) enter the slots of the ball (3) from opposite sides and form a detachable pivot joint providing for rotation transmission angle of more than 30°.

EFFECT: increased performance reliability of pivot joint mechanism.
