FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanisms of cardan joint type and can be used in the drives of cars and other vehicles for the uniform transmission of rotation between shafts. A pivot joint of equal angular velocities comprises a driving (1) shaft and a driven (2) shaft with yokes at the ends having identical dimensions, two parts symmetrical in respect to the shaft (1, 2) axis, flat parallel surfaces specifying the yoke thickness h, an external base, grooves with inner surfaces perpendicular to the outer surfaces, with a rectilinear section and a section in the form of a circular arc of q radius being equal to half the yoke groove width, a backup centring element (3) with two annular mutually perpendicular grooves of equal size and rectangular profile, the width of element (3) grooves is equal to the yoke thickness h. Side surfaces of the element (3) grooves are symmetrical in relation to two mutually perpendicular symmetry planes whose intersection line passes through the element (3) centre. Surfaces limiting the geometrical shape of the element (3) grooves' bases are the intersection of surfaces of two cylinders with radius q, whose axes are mutually perpendicular, pass through the element (3) centre and are perpendicular to the respective symmetry plane each. Surface limiting the geometrical shape of the element (3) is the intersection of the surface of a sphere with radius R whose centre coincides with the centre of the element (3), surfaces of two cylinders with radius r, (R2-0.9h2)1/2≤r≤(R2-0.3h2)1/2, axes of cylinders with radius r coincide with the axes of cylinders with radius q, and two secant planes which are parallel to the plane formed by the axes of cylinder with radiuses r and q and are symmetrically distanced from it by 0.80 - 0.98 r. The yokes of the shafts (1, 2) enter the grooves of the element (3) from opposite sides and form a detachable pivot joint providing for rotation transmission angle of more than 30°.
EFFECT: improved performance reliability of a cardan pivot joint of equal angular velocities.
