FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved method of obtaining N, N'-bis[dimethylaminomethyl](thio)urea, which can be used as antimicrobial additives to lubricating-cooling liquids. Method consists in interaction of N,N,N',N'-tetramethylmethylenediamine (bisamine) with (thio)urea in presence of catalyst FeCl3·6H2O with molar ratio (20-25):10 : (0,3-0,7). Process is carried out at room temperature (20°C) and atmospheric pressure in ethyl alcohol for 0.5-1 h.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to obtain products with high output and simplify process due to simplification of dosing of initial compounds and elimination of initial volatile compounds.
