FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: instrument for submuscular fixation of an eyeball made of a stainless steel strip 1 mm thick comprises two branches of a variable profile; a constituent clamp side, non-working portions of the branch 3 mm wide extending from a clamp bend gradually transforms into cylindrical working portions; ends of the working portions bent outwards in the plane of the instrument at 90° are shaped as L-hooks the ends of which are bent at 90° towards the non-working portions. Taking into consideration the comparability of its working portion with the anatomic-topographic characteristics of oculomotor muscles, using the instrument eliminates the muscle injuries, while the instrument configuration provides reliable fixation of the eyeball including if it is necessary to change its position during the operation that promotes reducing the length of the operation.
EFFECT: improving manipulations on the oculomotor muscles.
