FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems using quasi-global satellite communication systems (SCS) and can be used to improve channel reliability of small-size spacecraft with a flight control centre. The result is achieved by installing, on-board the small-size spacecraft, an additional system for automatic control of operation of the modem of the SCS. The system for automatic control of the modem includes a logic device made on the program layer. The logic device processes, based on defined algorithms, overhead signals transmitted to the modem from the CSC simultaneously with the main signal. As a result, a control command for the switch controlling the turning on of the modem is generated at the output of the logic device. Basic specifications of the disclosed system were confirmed during experiments on the designed Nanosatellite Simulator using the GLOBALSTAR satellite communication system.
EFFECT: considerably reducing the number of unsuccessful communication sessions of small-size spacecraft with a flight control centre.
