SUBSTANCE: hammer crusher comprises a housing inside which the decks are located, the control of "live" section, made in the form of fixed and movable sieves with openings, the rotor with pivotally suspended hammers, the loading and the unloading necks. The openings in the sieves are made of rectangular shape. The fixed sieve is attached to the ends of the decks. The movable sieve has the ability to move along the circumference of the grinding chamber along the fixed sieve over a distance not exceeding the length of the opening of the sieve. To reduce the longitudinal dimension of the "live" section the direction of the movable sieve displacement should coincide with the direction of rotation of the rotor.

EFFECT: use of invention enables to increase the performance of the crusher, to reduce the energy consumption of the process, and to improve the quality of the material obtained.
