SUBSTANCE: invention consists in the proposal of a system to determine the number of steps, method to determine the number of steps and a pedometer which can define the number of steps according to the characteristics of walking of an individual. Vibration data obtained by a vibration data acquisition unit (computing module 554) of a pedometer 505 are transferred from the pedometer 505 to a server by a communication unit (communication module 524, 551), and the data of step number determination criterion suitable for the measurement of the number of steps are calculated by a computing unit (control unit 520) of the server 502 on the basis of the vibration data. The data of the step number determination criterion calculated in the server 502 are transferred from the server 502 to the pedometer 505 and the data of the of step number determination criterion saved in the pedometer 505 are updated up to the data of the step number determination criterion calculated in the server 502 for accurate counting of the number of steps according to the characteristics of walking of a certain individual.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of step number counting.
