FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to phosphorus-sulphur compounds with fire-retardant properties, of formula: , where X denotes oxygen, T denotes sulphur, each X' independently denotes oxygen or sulphur, n is the valence of A and equals at least 2, A denotes an organic binding group, as well as a method of producing a foamed polymer, which involves formation of a molten mixture of a combustible thermoplastic or thermosetting polymer, at least one foaming agent and said phosphorus-sulphur compound under pressure, and then extruding the molten mixture through a nozzle in a region of low pressure such that the molten mixture expands and cools to form a foamed polymer.
EFFECT: novel phosphorus-sulphur compound which is effective as a fire-retardant additive and a novel efficient method of producing foamed polymers with improved properties.
