SHARED TELEVISION SESSIONS Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC H04N5/44

Abstract RU 2524164 C2

FIELD: physics, video.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to television systems and specifically to shared television sessions. The technical result is resolving television system resource conflict and limitation problems by providing shared television sessions to which a user can connect for shared viewing. To this end, an additional display device sends a request to connect to a shared television session which is displayed on one or more display devices between which a shared television session is established and which share a tuner of a tuner device in order to receive television content. If said request is accepted by at least one display device, the additional display device connects to the shared television session. An input tuner configuration signal can be received if initiated in a display device, and the input tuner configuration signal can be transmitted to the tuner device to change television content. The tuner device can receive other television content through the tuner in accordance with the input tuner configuration signal.

EFFECT: tuner updates associated with an input tuner configuration signal can then be transmitted to update display devices which then share the tuner of the tuner device to receive other television content.
