SUBSTANCE: invention relates to television through Internet protocol (IPTV) and IP multimedia systems (IMS) and is designed for provision of IMS services to set-top boxes. The set-top box (50) is permitted to perform IMS services by provision of an IMS application (40) based on a scenario realised in a declarative environment (54) of set-top box (50) applications for realisation of the IPTV session transmitted between an IMS gateway (20) and a system (56) of the OITF introduced set-top box (50). As a result, not only set-top boxes (50), previously configured and having their own functional IMS facilities, may provide IMS services to users in a home network (1).
