SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method of processing information when transmitting video (video conferencing or video chat) over an asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) communication network. The technical result is achieved due to that a client device 11A, which is the transmitting side, selects from an obtained image only an image which is the predominant communication element as primary data 21A. The client device 11B, which is the receiving side, receives from a streaming server 12A via a network 13, graphic data of a texture image which is an alternative background of the obtained image as secondary data 22A. The received primary data 21A and secondary data 22B are synthesised and the composite image is displayed on a monitor 34.
EFFECT: improved video quality and preserving realistic perceptions even in an uplink frequency band.
