FIELD: physics, computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of measuring the time of arrival of two-position angular manipulated signals at a receiving position. The technical result is achieved by eliminating receiving frequency uncertainty, which eliminates the need for two-dimensional search of arguments of the maximum of a two-dimensional discrete cross-correlation function (DCCF) for the two-position angular manipulated signal, thereby avoiding the search for the argument of the maximum of a one-dimensional DCCF. A two-level modulating signal is generated and differentially decoded. Each symbol of the differentially decoded signal is mapped onto a corresponding number of readings of the received signal converted to digital relative to the time scale of the receiving position by repeating values of the differentially decoded signal with increase in sampling frequency thereof to the sampling frequency of the received signal converted to digital. A second digital data stream is generated, which is converted using fast Fourier transform to values of a second spectrum.

EFFECT: high computational efficiency and high measurement accuracy.
