FIELD: military.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing a bulletproof product, which includes the steps: a) stacking a stretchable plate of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and a stretchable continuous film of polymer as an organic matrix material with the formation of a plate-film stack, where a continuous polymer film is used as an organic matrix material and is not a UHMWPE film, b) stretching the plate-film stack obtained in step a) at a temperature below the melting point of the UHMWPE stretch plate to a draw ratio of at least 2, whereby a UHMWPE film with an organic matrix material is provided, wherein a UHMWPE film is co-stretched with a polymer film as an organic matrix material, c) superposing a plurality of films provided according to step b) to form a layer of films, d) stacking at least two layers of films obtained according to step c) and forming a sheet, e) stacking a plurality of sheets obtained according to step d), forming a stack of sheets, and f) consolidating the sheets before and/or after stacking according to step e) by applying pressure and optional heating. The invention also relates to a bulletproof product that can be obtained by using the claimed method.

EFFECT: invention provides ballistic resistant articles containing films with low amounts of matrix with good adhesion and wear resistance properties, and which combine high ballistic performance with low surface weight and good stability.
