SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of streaming video from a server to a client. The method includes receiving a client video content request at a server, determining client software and hardware configuration, creating and/or selecting a time decoder based on the determined client equipment configuration, transmitting the time decoder to the client, encoding and streaming the requested video content from the server to the client, decoding the video content with the time decoder and rendering said video content at the client, determining the end of the client/server session and performing temporary switch-off and/or deleting the time decoder from the client.
EFFECT: faster operation owing to stabilisation of rate of transmitting data from a server to a client.
