METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SURGICAL CONNECTION OF HOLLOW ORGANS Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B17/04 A61B17/11

Abstract RU 2525615 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: device for surgical connection of hollow organs contains a base of a cylindrical shape with conical narrowings from both sides, passing into cylindrical rods with sharpenings on the end. Grooves for surgical sutures are made on the base. The grooves continue on the conical narrowings. The base is connected by means of the rods with two nozzles of a cylindrical shape. The peripheral end of each nozzle has a sharpened shape and located on it openings for placement of ends of straight needles, connected to surgical sutures. The cylindrical part of the base is covered with an external detachable envelope, on two parallel sides of the base-facing surface of which an adhesive material is applied. The method of surgical connection of hollow organs by means of the upper claimed device includes the application of the following stages: a. introduction of the sharpened end of the nozzle together with the needles into the lumen of one of the structures to be connected; b. traction of the device from the lumen of the hollow organ, during which short ends of the needles pass through the wall of the sewn hollow organ and appear on the external surface of the organ; c. ends of the needles are caught by surgical clamps and one by one extracted together with the sutures from the device; d. after extraction of all the needles the nozzle is extracted from the lumen of the hollow organ. Stages a, b, c, d in the same succession are repeated from the other side with the second structure to be connected. After that, the sutures are tied up one by one to complete connection of the two hollow organs.

EFFECT: inventions ensure automation of the application of a surgical suture in the process of connection of tubular structures of different diameter, which makes it possible to apply the sutures on the programmed distance from each other and from the edge of the hollow organ in preliminarily predetermined quantity, which excludes the human factor as a potential source of mistake; accurately match the hollow organs to be connected to each other, connect tubular structures, the hollow organs of a small diameter, considerably accelerate the process of a surgical anastomosis formation, optimise the process of connecting structures in restricted conditions of the surgical field, apply the surgical suture material for an anastomosis formation, which is at the present time is the most physiological method of connecting biological structures.
