SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises making the crucible from refractory mass, its curing, drying and cooling Refractory mass is prepared at mixing of aqueous solution of soda ash with slag, that is a by-product of aluminothermal process, containing vanadium and/or molybdenum, super plasticiser SP-1 and high-alumina cement Slag is mixed with plasticiser at the rate of 0.8-1.2 kg of plasticiser per 200 kg of slag Obtained mix is diluted with water at the rate of 1 dm3 per 14-15 kg of slag and mixed till complete damping of the mix Then, high-alumina cement is introduced in amount of 0.5-1.5 kg per 12-14 kg of slag and mixed to homogeneous mass Crucible is dried in curing at 100-150°C for 2±0.5 hours, thereafter drying temperature being increased to 650°C and curing being performed for 10±0.5 hours.

EFFECT: crucible with low heat conductivity, lower power input.
