FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: substance of the invention consists in using a metering cylinder tightly closed with a cover and a hole, making it possible to monitor full filling of the cylinder with liquid at the level of the upper edge of the hole in the cover. The following method of measurements is used on the basis of this opportunity: - mass of the investigated porous sample is measured - m0 - mass of the sample filled with wetting fluid is measured - m, - mass of the metering cylinder fully filled with the same liquid is measured - M0, - the filled sample is placed into the metering cylinder - mass of the metering cylinder fully filled with liquid with a sample in it is measured - M. The technical result of the invention consists in the fact that the apparent (geometric) volume of the investigated porous sample - V1 is determined in accordance with the following formula:
EFFECT: simplified procedure and increased accuracy of detection of volumes of porous samples with simultaneous determination of both apparent and actual volumes.
