FIELD: volume measuring techniques.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technique for measuring volumes and determining the density of porous bodies of arbitrary shape, different moisture content, as well as fractional composition and can be used in all areas of research or application of porous objects. The method consists in the fact that after weighing, the test body is placed in a sample vessel, which is connected in series through valves to a measuring vessel of the same volume and to a pump that creates a pressure change in two vessels simultaneously, followed by shutting off the valves and sequential reverse air bypass by opening the valves first into the measuring vessel until atmospheric pressure is reached in it with simultaneous measurement and fixation by the flow meter of the change in air volume, and then into the sample vessel also with measurement and fixation of the change in air volume by the flow meter, while the body volume is determined by the formula: , where Vb is the required body volume, Vv the volume of each vessel, ΔV1 the amount of change in the volume of air in the sample vessel, ΔV2 the amount of change in the volume of air in the measuring vessel; and the density of the investigated porous body is determined by the formula .

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring the volume and determining the density of porous bodies of arbitrary shape, different moisture content and fractional composition.
