FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: automated system for measuring radio characteristics of missile homing heads relates to radio measurements and can be used for experimental evaluation of radio characteristics of homing heads having an antenna and a protected radioparent radome. The disclosed system comprises a remote controlled two-dimensional rotary support, having angular position sensors for the radome (heading α and pitch β), a direction-finding antenna of the homing head, measuring antennae (target simulators), measuring devices (for measuring amplitude-phase ratios of signals and relative amplitude values), a generator (source of probing radiation) and a control computer.
EFFECT: high accuracy of estimating direction-finding errors, enabling initial system calibration, taking into account direction-finding errors on an orthogonal coordinate, measuring radio characteristics in the entire scanning sector, high measurement efficiency.
