SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to lifting and transporting equipment and can be used to pick up flat objects including printed products. Picking up device contains multiple supporting elements and multiple receivers. Receivers contain grips with lips. Supporting elements are components of grips. Supporting element is formed by the first lip of grip which lip is elongated relative to the second lip. Pick-up method is characterised by the fact that receivers are moved along closed loop path. Objects are put into receivers. Objects are laid on supporting surfaces in piles. Grips are closed and then piles are transferred in grips. Reliability of flat objects receive, alignment and transfer is increased.
EFFECT: possibility of holding objects in piles irrespective of transport cell orientation.
