FIELD: book stitching. SUBSTANCE: device for wire stitching of printed matter consisting of many parts has a system of stitching heads which move along closed trajectory. In zone stitching, the trajectory of movement of stitching heads is equidistant from trajectory of product movement. Mechanism for staple bending consists of countermembers moving in synchronism with stitching heads and moving in the region of stitching along the section equidistant from trajectory of product movement. Transportation mechanism has means for feed of production by folder lines at right angle to the direction of transportation and formed by saddle-shaped supports for folded printed matter. Mechanism supplying wire lengths is made to transfer them at right angle to direction of movement of stitching heads. Stitching heads and countermembers are mounted so that staples are installed square to direction of movement of product. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 12 cl, 24 dwg
